The AAUW is a Section 501(c)(3) public charity and a smaller Section 501(c)(4), the Action Fund, a social welfare organization engaged in limited activities relating to member activism and voter education.

          The AAUW – NJ and the AAUW Salem County NJ Branch are Section 501(c)(4) organizations.

Please Note:  Section 501(c)(3) organizations are tax exempt and tax deductible, i.e. donations to the organization are tax deductible to the donor.    Section 501(c)(4) organizations are tax exempt, but  not tax deductible, i.e. donations to the Section 501(c)(4) organization are not tax deductible to the donor.
